Chocolate Culture from Hamelin – for over 20 years

For two decades, we have passionately curated and sold chocolate in the historic old town of Hamelin. As "happiness makers", we stand for honest craftsmanship, selected cocoa origins, and bars that tell stories. Our house specialties, such as bark chocolate and the "Greetings from Hamelin", are carefully selected and complemented by fine manufacturers such as Wagner Pralinen, Lauenstein Confiserie, and Wildbach.

    Dark & Extra Dark

For lovers of intense flavors: Our dark and extra dark chocolates range from 50% cocoa to intense single-origin varieties like the Lauenstein Confiserie JAKAO Pure Uganda with 100% cocoa content. Particularly popular are our homemade dark chocolate bark and the hazelnut-on-hazelnut bar with 60% cocoa. Characterful, less sweet, with complex notes of fruit and roasted aroma.

    Whole Milk & Specialty Items

Creamy-tender and diverse: Classic milk chocolate meets artisanal creations with caramel, nougat or fleur de sel. Our house specialty, Bark Chocolate Milk, or the Wagner Veneziana (43% premium milk chocolate from Venezuela) show how much character this category holds. Ideal for daily indulgence or as a gift.

  • Weiße Schokolade mit Erdbeeren und Beeren auf hellem Marmor

    White & Filled Chocolates

Creamy-mild with a fruity character: White chocolate from Wagner Pralinen with strawberry, blackcurrant-yogurt or lemon brings delicate summer notes to the cup. Chocolate-covered strawberries from Fritz Kunder are also among the favorites of this variety. A creamy-tender taste experience for all who prefer it less tart.

What makes good chocolate

The cocoa content is an important guide, but by no means everything. Just as crucial are the origin, roasting, and recipe. Single-origin chocolates from a single region show the typical character of that particular plantation. Fruity, nutty, or earthy. The conching time (the hours-long stirring of the cocoa mass) also determines how delicately the chocolate melts on the tongue.

Cocoa Content Overview:
· 30–40%: Mild, creamy, good for specialty products and white chocolate
· 50–60%: Balanced, versatile, classic dark chocolate character
· 70% upwards: Intense, complex, with distinct fruit notes

This is how your chocolate stays flavorful

Chocolate likes it dry, dark, and consistently cool. To preserve its aroma and appearance:

· Store at 14–18 °C, not in the refrigerator
· Keep in a dry place protected from light, ideally in its original packaging or an airtight container
· Avoid strong temperature fluctuations, otherwise, grey fat bloom will form

This way, you can enjoy your chocolate piece by piece just as it should be: melt-in-your-mouth, aromatic, and with full flavor depth.
